6:2

6:1
1. Hear therefore, ye kings, and understand; Learn, ye judges of the ends of the earth:
6:1 Hear therefore, O ye kings, and understand; learn, ye that be judges of the ends of the earth:
6:3

6:2
2. Give ear, ye that have dominion over much people, And make your boast in multitudes of nations.
6:2 Give ear, ye that rule the people, and glory in the multitude of nations:
6:4

6:3
3. Because your dominion was given you from the Lord, And your sovereignty from the Most High; Who shall search out your works, And shall make inquisition of your counsels:
6:3 For power is given you of the Lord, and sovereignty from the Highest, who shall try your works, and search out your counsels:
6:5

6:4
4. Because being officers of his kingdom ye did not judge aright, Neither kept ye law, nor walked after the counsel of God.
6:4 Because, being ministers of his kingdom, ye have not judged aright, nor kept the law, nor walked after the counsel of God:
6:6

6:5
5. Awfully and swiftly shall he come upon you; Because a stern judgement befalleth them that be in high place:
6:5 Horribly and speedily shall he come upon you: for a sharp judgment shall be to them that be in high places:
6:7

6:6
6. For the man of low estate may be pardoned in mercy, But mighty men shall be searched out mightily.
6:6 For mercy will soon pardon the meanest: but mighty men shall be mightily tormented:
6:8

6:7
7. For the Sovereign Lord of all will not refrain himself for any person, Neither will he reverence greatness; Because it is he that made small and great, And alike he taketh thought for all;
6:7 For he which is Lord over all shall fear no man' s person, neither shall he stand in awe of any man' s greatness: for he hath made the small and great, and careth for all alike:
6:9

6:8
8. But strict is the scrutiny that cometh upon the powerful.
6:8 But a sore trial shall come upon the mighty:
6:10

6:9
9. Unto you therefore, O princes, are my words, That ye may learn wisdom and fall not from the right way.
6:9 Unto you therefore, O kings, do I speak, that ye may learn wisdom, and not fall away:
6:11

6:10
10. For they that have kept holily the things that are holy shall be hallowed; And they that have been taught them shall find what to answer;
6:10 For they that keep holiness holily shall be judged holy: and they that have learned such things shall find what to answer:
6:12

6:11
11. Set your desire therefore on my words; Long for and ye shall be trained by discipline.
6:11 Wherefore set your affection upon my words; desire them, and ye shall be instructed:
6:13

6:12
12. Wisdom is radiant and fadeth not away; And easily is she beheld of them that love her, And found of them that seek her.
6:12 Wisdom is glorious, and never fadeth away: yea, she is easily seen of them that love her, and found of such as seek her:
6:14

6:13
13. She forestalleth them that desire making herself first known.
6:13 She preventeth them that desire her, in making herself first known unto them:
6:15

6:14
14. He that riseth up early to her shall have no toil, For he shall find her sitting at his gates.
6:14 Whoso seeketh her early shall have no great travail: for he shall find her sitting at his doors:
6:16

6:15
15. For to think upon her is perfectness of understanding, And he that watcheth for her sake shall quickly be free from care.
6:15 To think therefore upon her is perfection of wisdom: and whoso watcheth for her shall quickly be without care:
6:17

6:16
16. Because she goeth about, herself seeking them that are worthy of her, And in their paths she appeareth unto them graciously, And in every purpose she meeteth them.
6:16 For she goeth about seeking such as are worthy of her, sheweth herself favourably unto them in the ways, and meeteth them in every thought:
6:18

6:17
17. For her true beginning is desire of discipline; And the care for discipline is love
6:17 For the very true beginning of her is the desire of discipline; and the care of discipline is love:
6:19

6:18
18. And love is observance of her laws; And to give heed to laws confirmeth incorruption;
6:18 And love is the keeping of her laws; and the giving heed unto her laws is the assurance of incorruption:
6:20

6:19
19. And incorruption bringeth near unto God;
6:19 And incorruption maketh us near unto God:
6:21

6:20
20. So then desire of wisdom promoteth to a kingdom.
6:20 Therefore the desire of wisdom bringeth to a kingdom:
6:22

6:21
21. If therefore ye delight in thrones and sceptres, ye princes of peoples, Honour wisdom, that ye may reign for ever.
6:21 If your delight be then in thrones and sceptres, O ye kings of the people, honour wisdom, that ye may reign for evermore:
6:24

6:22
22. But what wisdom is, and how she came into being, I will declare, And I will not hide mysteries from you; But I will trace out from the beginning of creation, And bring the knowledge of her into clear light, And I will not pass by the truth;
6:22 As for wisdom, what she is, and how she came up, I will tell you, and will not hide mysteries from you: but will seek her out from the beginning of her nativity, and bring the knowledge of her into light, and will not pass over the truth:
6:25

6:23
23. Neither indeed will I take pining envy for my companion in the way, Because envy shall have no fellowship with wisdom.
6:23 Neither will I go with consuming envy; for such a man shall have no fellowship with wisdom:
6:26

6:24
24. But a multitude of wise men is salvation to the world, And an understanding king is tranquillity to people.
6:24 But the multitude of the wise is the welfare of the world: and a wise king is the upholding of the people:
6:27

6:25
25. Wherefore be disciplined by my words, and shall ye profit.
6:25 Receive therefore instruction through my words, and it shall do you good:
