6:1 Եւ յորժամ դադարեցին ՛ի խօսելոյ իւրեանց, որ շուրջ էին զխորանաւն իւրեանց. եւ ասէ Հողոփեռնէս զօրագլուխ զօրացն Ասուր` ցԱքիովր, առաջի ամենայն զօրացն այլազգեաց. Ո՞վ ե՛ս դու Աքիովր, որ դիմակա՛ց ես ժողովրդեանն այլազգեաց ամենեցուն` եւ առ որդիս Մովաբայ, եւ որ վարձկանքս են յԵփրեմայ[39]:

6:1 And when the tumult of men that were about the council was ceased, Holofernes the chief captain of the army of Assur said unto Achior and all the Moabites before all the company of other nations,
KJV [2] And who art thou, Achior, and the hirelings of Ephraim:

6:2 զի մարգարէացար մեզ որպէս եւ օրս այս, եւ ասես եթէ մի՛ տացուք պատերազմ ընդ որդիսն Իսրայէլի. զի Աստուածն նոցա պաշտպանէ նոցա. եւ ո՞վ է Աստուած բաց ՛ի Նաբուքոդոնոսորայ: Նա՛ առաքէ զզօրութիւն իւր, եւ սատակէ զնոսա յերկրէ. եւ ո՛չ փրկէ զնոսա Աստուածն նոցա[40]:

6:2 that thou hast prophesied against us as to day, and hast said, that we should not make war with the people of Israel, because their God will defend them? and who is God but Nabuchodonosor?
KJV [3] He will send his power, and will destroy them from the face of the earth, and their God shall not deliver them:

6:3 Այլ մեք ծառայք նորա վանե՛մք զնոսա իբրեւ զայր մի. եւ ո՛չ կարասցեն կա՛լ ընդդէմ հեծելազօր երիվարաց մերոց, եւ ջնջեսցո՛ւք զնոսա նոքօք. եւ զլերինս նոցա արբուցանե՛մք յարենէ նոցա. եւ դաշտք նոցա լցցի՛ն դիակամբք նոցա. եւ ո՛չ եւս կարասցեն կալ առաջի մեր, այլ կորնչելով կորնչիցին[41]:

6:3 but we his servants will destroy them as one man; for they are not able to sustain the power of our horses.
KJV [4] For with them we will tread them under foot, and their mountains shall be drunken with their blood, and their fields shall be filled with their dead bodies, and their footsteps shall not be able to stand before us, for they shall utterly perish, saith king Nabuchodonosor, lord of all the earth:

6:4 ասէ արքայ Նաբուքոդոնոսոր տէ՛ր ամենայն երկրի. քանզի ասաց` եւ ո՛չ ընդունայնացան բանք բերանոյ նորա:

6:4 for he said, None of my words shall be in vain:
|
6:5 Այլ դու Աքիովր վարձկան Ամոնայ` եւ խօսեցար զբանս զայս յանիրաւութեան քում. եւ ո՛չ եւս յաւելցես տեսանել զերեսս իմ յօրէս յայսմանէ մինչեւ խնդրեցից վրէ՛ժ յազգէն որ յԵգիպտոսէն ելին. եւ ապա՛ անցցէ սուր զօրաց իմոց ընդ կողս քո[42]:

6:5 And thou, Achior, an hireling of Ammon, which hast spoken these words in the day of thine iniquity, shalt see my face no more from this day, until I take vengeance of this nation that came out of Egypt:

6:6 եւ կործանեսցիս ընդ վիրաւորս բազումս յորժամ դարձայց: Այլ այժմ դարձուսցեն զքեզ ծառայք իմ ՛ի լեռնակողմն` եւ պահեսցեն զքեզ յանցս քաղաքի միոյ որ յանցս ճանապարհացն է, եւ մի՛ կորնչիցիս մինչեւ սատակեսցիս նոքօք հանդերձ. եւ եթէ յուսաս սրտիւ քով եթէ ո՛չ մատնին` յայդ ինչ մի՛ վստա՛հ լինիցիս. զի խօսեցայ` եւ ո՛չ անցանէ բան մի ՛ի բանից իմոց[43]:

6:6 And then shall the sword of mine army, and the multitude of them that serve me, pass through thy sides,
6 KJV [6] and thou shalt fall among their slain, when I return.
KJV [7] Now therefore my servants shall bring thee back into the hill country, and shall set thee in one of the cities of the passages:
KJV [8] And thou shalt not perish, till thou be destroyed with them.
KJV [9] And if thou persuade thyself in thy mind that they shall be taken, let not thy countenance fall: I have spoken it, and none of my words shall be in vain:

6:7 Եւ ե՛տ հրաման Հողոփեռնէս ծառայից իւրոց որ կային առաջի նորա, կապե՛լ զԱքիովր, եւ տանել զնա ՛ի Բետիուղա, եւ մատնել զնա ՛ի ձեռս որդւոցն Իսրայէլի[44]:

6:7 KJV [10] Then Holofernes commanded his servants, that waited in his tent, to take Achior, and bring him to Bethulia, and deliver him into the hands of the children of Israel:

6:8 Եւ կալան զնա ծառայք նորա, եւ ածին զնա արտաքոյ բանակին ՛ի դաշտ անդր, եւ գնացին նոքա ՛ի դաշտէ անտի, եւ եկին ՛ի լեռնակողմն աղբերցն ՛ի ներքոյ Բետիուղայ, որ է Շամրին: Եւ իբրեւ տեսին զնոսա արք քաղաքին ՛ի վերայ գլխոյ լերինն, առին նոքա զզէնս իւրեանց եւ յարձակեցան ՛ի վերայ նոցա ՛ի գլուխ լերինն. եւ ամենայն այր պարսաւոր կալան զելս նոցա եւ քարաձի՛գ արարին ՛ի վերայ նոցա[45]:

6:8 KJV [11] So his servants took him, and brought him out of the camp into the plain, and they went from the midst of the plain into the hill country, and came unto the fountains that were under Bethulia.
KJV [12] And when the men of the city saw them, they took up their weapons, and went out of the city to the top of the hill: and every man that used a sling kept them from coming up by casting of stones against them:

6:9 Եւ մտին նոքա ընդ լեռնոտամբն, եւ կապեցին զԱքիովր, եւ ընկեցին զնա առ լեռնոտինն. եւ նոքա գնացին դարձան առ տէրն իւրեանց:

6:9 KJV [13] Nevertheless having gotten privily under the hill, they bound Achior, and cast him down, and left him at the foot of the hill, and returned to their lord:

6:10 Եւ իջին որդիքն Իսրայէլի ՛ի քաղաքէ անտի եւ հասին ՛ի վերայ նորա` եւ լուծին զնա, եւ տարան ՛ի Բետուղա. եւ կացուցին զնա ընդ իշխանս քաղաքին իւրեանց:

6:10 KJV [14] But the Israelites descended from their city, and came unto him, and loosed him, and brought him to Bethulia, and presented him to the governors of the city:

6:11 որք էին յաւուրսն յայնոսիկ` Ոզիա որդի Միքեայ յազգէ Շմաւոնի, եւ Քարմի որդի Եղ՛քիէլի[46]:

6:11 KJV [15] Which were in those days Ozias the son of Micha, of the tribe of Simeon, and Chabris the son of Gothoniel, and Charmis the son of Melchiel:

6:12 Եւ ժողովեցին զամենայն զծերս քաղաքին` եւ զամենայն երիտասարդս, եւ զամենայն կանայս յեկեղեցին. եւ կոչեցին զԱքիովր ՛ի մէջ ամենայն ժողովրդեանն. եւ հարցանէ՛ր զնա Ոզիա, եթէ` Վասն է՞ր եղեւ ընդ քեզ ա՛յդ անցք: Եւ նա տա՛յր պատասխանի, եւ պատմէր զբանս խորհրդոյն Հողոփեռնեայ. եւ զամենայն բանսն զոր խօսեցաւ ինքն ՛ի մէջ իշխանացն որդւոցն Ասուր[47]:

6:12 KJV [16] And they called together all the ancients of the city, and all their youth ran together, and their women, to the assembly, and they set Achior in the midst of all their people. Then Ozias asked him of that which was done.
KJV [17] And he answered and declared unto them the words of the council of Holofernes, and all the words that he had spoken in the midst of the princes of Assur:

6:13 զոր ինչ միանգամ մեծաբանեալ խօսեցաւ Հողոփեռնէս վասն տանն Իսրայէլի:

6:13 and whatsoever Holofernes had spoken proudly against the house of Israel:
|
6:14 Եւ ՛ի գո՛ւճս իջեալ ամենայն ժողովուրդն երկրին երկի՛ր պագանէին Աստուծոյ, աղաղակէին եւ ասէին:

6:14 KJV [18] Then the people fell down and worshipped God, and cried unto God. saying:
|
6:15 Տէր Աստուած երկնից` տե՛ս զամբարտաւանութիւն նոցա, եւ ողորմեա՛ց խոնարհութեան ազգիս մերում, եւ նայեա՛ց ՛ի սրբութիւն քո Տէր յաւուրս յայսմիկ:

6:15 KJV [19] O Lord God of heaven, behold their pride, and pity the low estate of our nation, and look upon the face of those that are sanctified unto thee this day:

6:16 Եւ աղաչեցին: Եւ մխիթարեցին զԱքիովր, եւ գովեցի՛ն յոյժ զնա:

6:16 KJV [20] Then they comforted Achior, and praised him greatly:

6:19 Եւ ա՛ռ զնա Ոզիա յեկեղեցւոյ անտի եւ տարա՛ւ ՛ի տուն իւր:

6:19 KJV [21] And Ozias took him out of the assembly unto his house:
|
6:20 եւ արար նմա կոչունս ծերոցն եւ քահանայիցն: Եւ կարդացին զգիշերն զայն ամենայն առ Տէր Աստուած Իսրայէլի[48]:

6:20 and made a feast to the elders; and they called on the God of Israel all that night for help:
