Որ խնդրէ իրաւունս ՛ի Տեառնէ` գտցէ վրէժխնդրութիւն:

1. He that taketh vengeance shall find vengeance from the Lord; And he will surely make firm his sins.
28:1 He that revengeth shall find vengeance from the Lord, and he will surely keep his sins:
28:2
Զվնաս ընկերի քո թո՛ղ, եւ ապա թողցին քեզ մեղք քո:

2. Forgive thy neighbour the hurt that he hath done And then thy sins shall be pardoned when thou prayest.
28:2 Forgive thy neighbour the hurt that he hath done unto thee, so shall thy sins also be forgiven when thou prayest:
28:3
Զի եթէ ոխս ընկերին պահեսցես, զիա՞րդ ՛ի Տեառնէ խնդրեսցես թողութիւն:

3. Man cherisheth anger against man; And doth he seek healing from the Lord?
28:3 One man beareth hatred against another, and doth he seek pardon from the Lord? KJV [4] He sheweth no mercy to a man, which is like himself: and doth he ask forgiveness of his own sins? KJV [5] If he that is but flesh nourish hatred, who will intreat for pardon of his sins:
28:6
Յիշեա՛ զվախճան քո, եւ դադարեա՛ ՛ի թշնամութենէ:

4. Upon a man like himself he hath no mercy; And doth he make supplication for his own sins?
28:6 Remember thy end, and let enmity cease:
28:7
Զմտա՛ւ ած զմա՛հ ապականութեան, եւ պահեա՛ զպատուիրանս:

28:7
5. He being himself flesh nourisheth wrath: Who shall make atonement for his sins?
28:7 corruption and death, and abide in the commandments. KJV [7] Remember the commandments, and bear no malice to thy neighbour:
28:9
Ա՛ծ զմտաւ զուխտ Բարձրելոյն, եւ թո՛ղ ՛ի բաց զանմտութիւն քո:

28:9
6. Remember thy last end, and cease from enmity: corruption and death, and abide in the commandments.
28:9 the covenant of the Highest, and wink at ignorance:
28:10
Հեռացո՛ ՛ի քէն զմա՛րտ եւ զկագ, եւ նուազեսցին ՛ի քէն մեղք:

28:10
7. Remember the commandments, and be not wroth with thy neighbour; And the covenant of the Highest, and wink at ignorance.
28:10 Abstain from strife, and thou shalt diminish thy sins:
28:11
Այր բարկացօղ բորբոքէ զմարտ, եւ այր մեղաւոր խռովէ զբարեկամս, զի ՛ի մէջ խաղաղութեան արկանէ բանսարկութիւն:

8. Abstain from strife, and thou shalt diminish thy sins: For a passionate man will kindle strife;
28:11 for a furious man will kindle strife, a sinful man disquieteth friends, and maketh debate among them that be at peace. KJV [10] As the matter of the fire is, so it burneth: and as a man' s strength is, so is his wrath; and according to his riches his anger riseth; and the stronger they are which contend, the more they will be inflamed. KJV [11] An hasty contention kindleth a fire: and an hasty fighting sheddeth blood:

Եթէ փչես ՛ի կայծակն` բորբոքի նա, եւ եթէ թքանես ՛ի վերայ` շիջուցանես զնա. եւ սոքա երկոքեան ՛ի բերանոյ քումմէ ելանեն:

9. And a man that is a sinner will trouble friends, And will make debate among them that be at peace.
28:14 If thou blow the spark, it shall burn: if thou spit upon it, it shall be quenched: and both these come out of thy mouth:
28:15
Զքսուն եւ զերկխօսն առհասարակ նզովեցէք, զի զբազումս ՛ի խաղաղութեան սատակեցին:

28:15
10. As is the fuel of the fire, so will it burn; And as the stoutness of the strife is, will it burn: As is the strength of the man, will be his wrath; And as is his wealth, will he exalt his anger.
28:15 Curse the whisperer and doubletongued: for such have destroyed many that were at peace:

Լեզու երեքդիմի արար հալածական զա՛զգս յազգաց:

11. A contention begun in haste kindleth a fire; And a hasty fighting sheddeth blood.
28:16 A backbiting tongue hath disquieted many, and driven them from nation to nation:
28:17
եւ զքաղաքս հզօրս կործանեաց, եւ զապարանս մեծամեծս քակեաց:

28:17
12. If thou blow a spark, it shall burn; And if thou spit upon it, it shall be quenched: And both these shall come out of thy mouth.
28:17 strong cities hath it pulled down, and overthrown the houses of great men. KJV [15] A backbiting tongue hath cast out virtuous women, and deprived them of their labours:
28:20
Որ զայնպիսի լեզու սիրէ` ո՛չ գտանէ խաղաղութիւն, եւ ո՛չ կարէ բնակել ՛ի խաղաղութեան:

13. Curse the whisperer and double-tongued: For he hath destroyed many that were at peace.
28:20 Whoso hearkeneth unto it shall never find rest, and never dwell quietly. KJV [17] The stroke of the whip maketh marks in the flesh: but the stroke of the tongue breaketh the bones:

Բազումք են որ անկեալ են ՛ի սուր սուսերի, այլ ո՛չ ա՛յնպէս որպէս անկեալքն ՛ի ձեռն լեզուի[85]:

14. A third person’s tongue hath shaken many, And dispersed them from nation to nation; And it hath pulled down strong cities, And overthrown the houses of great men.
28:22 Many have fallen by the edge of the sword: but not so many as have fallen by the tongue. KJV [19] Well is he that is defended through the venom thereof; who hath not drawn the yoke thereof, nor hath been bound in her bands. KJV [20] For the yoke thereof is a yoke of iron, and the bands thereof are bands of brass:

Մահ չարաչար մահ նորա, եւ լաւ են դժոխք քան զնա:

15. A third person’s tongue hath cast out brave women, And deprived them of their labours.
28:25 The death thereof is an evil death, the grave were better than it:
28:26
Զարդարս նա մի՛ յաղթահարեսցէ, եւ ՛ի հուր նորա նոքա մի՛ այրեսցին:

28:26
16. He that hearkeneth unto it shall not find rest, Nor shall he dwell quietly.
28:26 It shall not have rule over them that fear God, neither shall they be burned with the flame thereof:
28:27
Որք թողին զՏէր` նոքա անկցին ՛ի ձեռս նորա. ՛ի վերայ նոցա անկցի իբրեւ ի՛նծ ապականիչ նոցա[86]:

17. The stroke of a whip maketh a mark in the flesh; But the stroke of a tongue will break bones.
28:27 Such as forsake the Lord shall fall into it; and it shall burn in them, and not be quenched; it shall be sent upon them as a lion, and devour them as a leopard:

Որդեակ` զգո՛յշ լեր, ապրեցո՛ զանձն քո, եւ դիր դուռն բերանոյ քո:

18. Many have fallen by the edge of the sword: Yet not so many as they that have fallen because of the tongue.
28:28 Look that thou hedge thy possession about with thorns:

Զարծաթ եւ զոսկի քո ծրարեա՛, եւ բանից քոց առնիջիր չափ եւ կշիռ: Բերանոյ քո կացո՛ դուռն:

28:29
19. Happy is he that is sheltered from it, That hath not passed through the wrath thereof; That hath not drawn its yoke, And hath not been bound with its bands.
28:29 and bind up thy silver and gold, and weigh thy words in a balance, and make a door and bar for thy mouth:
28:30
Եւ զգո՛յշ լեր զի մի՛ գայթակղեսցիս լեզուաւ քո:

28:30
20. For the yoke thereof is a yoke of iron, And the bands thereof are bands of brass.
28:30 Beware thou slide not by it, lest thou fall before him that lieth in wait:
